So "Irish-licensed mobile casino" is not yet a thing that exists, and any site telling you otherwise has not looked.

Casino apps in Ireland: which ones actually exist, and what to use instead
For most Irish players in 2026 a well-built mobile browser site beats a mediocre native app. The genuine case for a native app is narrow: faster cold start, biometric login and push notifications. None of the operators we work with ships one — IceCasino, MyStake, SpinPlatinum, DolfWin and Vegadream all run as browser sites, and all perform well without a download. Add the site to your home screen and the difference largely disappears.
There is a structural reason the offshore brands have no app, and it is worth understanding because it is often misrepresented. Apple and Google both require a real-money gambling app to be published by the licensed operator itself and geo-restricted to territories where it holds a licence. A Curaçao licence does not satisfy that for the Irish storefront, so Curaçao brands ship mobile web instead. The Revolut Gambling Block, properly explained
Ireland is one of Revolut’s largest markets, so this affects more Irish players than any other payment quirk. Revolut has a built-in Gambling Block in the app, under your profile’s security and controls section. Whether it is already on varies by account — check the toggle rather than assuming. Once it is on, it blocks card transactions to merchants coded MCC 7995, which is the gambling category, and your casino deposit simply declines with no useful explanation at the cashier.
Three things about it are worth knowing before you assume a casino is at fault:
- Only you can turn it off. No casino, and no Revolut agent acting on a casino’s behalf, can lift it for you. It is in your app.
- Switching it off is not instant. Revolut applies a deliberate cooling-off delay, published as 48 hours, before gambling payments go through again. That is the point of the control — it stops an impulsive override. Check the current wording in the app, since Revolut revises these controls.
- It follows the card into the wallets. If your Revolut card is the card behind Apple Pay or Google Pay, those deposits fail too. It does not catch ordinary bank transfers or merchants that are miscategorised.

What we would avoid. Any site promising "instant mobile withdrawals" without naming the method. Payout speed is set by the casino’s processing queue and your verification status, not by the phone in your hand.
Ireland’s gambling licence register: what it actually shows in August 2026
This is the part of the Irish market that comparison sites keep getting wrong, so here is the position from the register itself rather than from a press release.
The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (No. 35 of 2024) was enacted on 23 October 2024. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) was established on 5 March 2025, and remote operators came under its remit on 1 July 2026. The public licence register is live at grai.ie/register and is downloadable as a CSV, which means anyone can check this rather than take our word for it.
As at 31 July 2026, that register held 19 licences across 18 companies. Every one of them is a Remote Betting or Remote Betting Intermediary licence. There are zero gaming licences, zero lottery licences, zero charitable licences and zero business-to-business licences. Remote gaming applications — the ones an online casino would need — are signposted for a later phase, with the remaining gaming, lottery, charitable and B2B categories running through 2027 and 2028. Each needs its own commencement order, and GRAI has not published a fixed date for any of them.

The trap: a casino-sounding name on the register does not mean a licensed casino
This is the detail worth taking away. Some companies on the register trade under names that sound like casinos — one licence holder’s registered trading names include Casinoin and Betmaster, another’s include QuinnCasino. Their licences are still Remote Betting licences. The licence covers the betting product, not a casino product. So if an affiliate site tells you a brand is "GRAI-licensed" and points at the register as proof, check the Activity column, not just the company name. On today’s register the Activity column says Remote Betting or Remote Betting Intermediary, and nothing else.
Is it legal to play at an offshore casino from Ireland right now?
Yes, and the reason is procedural rather than a loophole. The offence of providing gambling without a licence sits in section 67 of the Act, and it has been commenced only so far as it relates to betting. Section 67(2), which is the part that would bite on gaming, is not yet commenced. An MGA- or Curaçao-licensed casino accepting Irish players is therefore not currently in breach of the 2024 Act. There is no Irish law that penalises you as a player either.
Two other headline parts of the Act are also not yet in force, which matters because plenty of pages describe them as though they were:
- The advertising code (sections 143–151), including the broadcast watershed, is not yet commenced.
- The inducements rule (section 157), which restricts targeted free bets and VIP-style offers, is not yet commenced.
- The national self-exclusion register (sections 44–49) is not yet commenced. There is no Irish equivalent of GAMSTOP or BetStop. Self-exclusion today is per-operator only, and excluding yourself at one casino does nothing at any other.
We are describing what the register and the commencement position say; this is not legal advice. The practical read for a mobile player is straightforward. Nobody can offer you an Irish-licensed casino yet, so the licence question is really "which offshore regulator, and how much recourse does it give me" — covered in our licence authority comparison. Mobile casino sites: what separates a real one from a desktop site that loads on a phone
These are the factors that separate a real mobile experience from a desktop site that happens to load on a phone:
- Touch-optimised layout: spin buttons and menus large enough to tap without zooming. If you pinch to hit a button, it is not a mobile site.
- Mobile game library: HTML5 titles from Pragmatic Play, NetEnt and Evolution all run on mobile. Check your preferred providers actually appear in the mobile lobby, not just the desktop one.
- Mobile payment methods: Apple Pay and Google Pay skip manual card entry entirely. A cashier that still requires a sixteen-digit number typed on a small screen is behind.
- Fast loading on mobile data: a site that needs ten seconds on 4G is not optimised. Test it on data, not on your home WiFi.
- Accessible live chat: support reachable without closing your game.

Mobile Casino Bonuses for Irish Players

iPad and tablet casinos in Ireland: there is no such thing as an iPad casino
No operator on this page builds a separate iPad product, and neither does anyone else serving Irish players. What a tablet gives you is one of two existing layouts, and which one you get is decided by a setting in Safari rather than by the casino.
Safari on iPad asks websites for their desktop version by default. That is why a casino that looks purpose-built on your phone loads as a shrunken desktop lobby on the tablet — more games on screen, but menus, cashier and responsible gambling controls all laid out for a mouse rather than a thumb. You can switch it: tap the page settings button at the left of the address bar and choose Request Mobile Website. Try both before you deposit, because the two layouts put the cashier and the deposit limit controls in different places.
One thing genuinely improves on a tablet: live dealer. A ten-inch screen makes the table and the bet grid readable in a way a phone does not, and live tables are the game type where squinting costs you money. Slots gain nothing from the extra size.
The uncomfortable part is that any page titled “best iPad casinos Ireland” is the same shortlist with one word swapped. There is no iPad-only bonus, no iPad-only game library and no iPad app for any of the five brands here. Apple’s real-money gambling rules apply to iPadOS exactly as they do to iPhone: the licensed operator must publish the app and geo-restrict it to territories where it holds a licence. Ireland has issued no gaming licences, so that door is shut to every offshore casino regardless of quality. Add the site to your home screen instead. Android casinos in Ireland: the Play Store rule, and the APK you should not install
Google’s real-money gambling policy works country by country. The operator applies for each territory separately and must hold a gambling licence issued in that territory. Ireland’s regulator has issued zero gaming licences — the register held only remote betting licences as at 31 July 2026 — so no online casino can currently be approved for the Irish Play Store. That is a regulatory gate, not a verdict on the casino.
The consequence matters more on Android than on iPhone, and it is the one platform difference that carries real risk. iOS will not let you install anything from outside the App Store. Android will, if you tell it to. So every “download our Android casino app” file aimed at Irish players is an unsigned package from an unverified source, and it will ask you to allow installs from unknown sources or to switch off Play Protect. Nothing legitimate needs you to do that. The tactics we would not touch are listed on our casino blacklist.
What to do instead: open the casino in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Add to Home screen or Install app where the site offers it. A site that ships a proper web app manifest installs as a real icon in your app drawer, opens without browser chrome and keeps you logged in. That is as close to an app as these brands get, and it installs nothing you cannot remove by deleting the icon. While you are in Chrome, block notifications for the site so the casino cannot prompt you back with push messages.
On payments, Google Pay is offered less often than Apple Pay: of the five cashiers here, only SpinPlatinum lists both wallets. Check the cashier itself rather than any comparison table, ours included.
Apple Pay casinos for Irish players: what the wallet changes, and what it does not
Apple Pay is not really a payment method, whatever the cashier menu implies. It is a way of presenting a card you already hold. The money still leaves the Visa or Mastercard in your Wallet, the transaction is still coded as gambling, and your bank still makes the decision. So it adds no chargeback rights you did not already have, does not speed up a payout, does not unlock a better bonus and hides nothing from your bank. What it removes is a sixteen-digit number, an expiry date and a CVV typed on a small screen. That is a real convenience, and it is the whole of the benefit.
The consequence that catches people is direction. Apple Pay runs one way — no casino pays winnings back into a phone wallet. Deposit with it and you will be asked for a card, bank account or e-wallet when you cash out, and that method normally has to be verified before the first withdrawal clears. Add and verify it the day you open the account, not the day you win.
Whether Apple Pay appears at all is decided by the casino’s payment processor, not by Apple. This is where most guides go wrong: a brand with no App Store app can still offer Apple Pay in mobile Safari, because Apple’s store rules govern apps, not web checkouts. “No app” tells you nothing about wallet support. And if the card behind your Wallet is a Revolut card with the Gambling Block switched on, Apple Pay declines exactly as the plastic would — the block follows the card, not the wallet. Pay by phone casinos in Ireland: what people mean, and why the phone-bill version is a dead end
Two different things get searched with the same words. Paying with your phone means Apple Pay, Google Pay or your banking app, covered above. Paying by phone means carrier billing: the deposit is charged to your mobile bill or taken off your prepaid credit, and your network collects it. Where you do find it, three problems apply, and they are properties of the mechanism rather than faults of any one operator.
- It only runs one way. Your mobile network has no route to pay you. Winnings go to a card, bank account or e-wallet you have to add and verify anyway, so you carry two methods instead of one.
- The limits are not yours. The network is extending unsecured credit, so the ceiling is set by the network and it is usually low. On a bill-pay contract the charge also lands weeks after the session, detached from the decision that caused it — the opposite of what a deposit limit is for.
- It hides the spend from the tools that work. The charge shows on your bill as a network charge. That is frequently the attraction. It is also the reason to avoid it: a bank-level gambling block can only stop spending it can see.
If the appeal is keeping casino names off a bank statement, that is worth sitting with rather than engineering around. Ireland has no national self-exclusion register. Sections 44 to 49 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 provide for one, but they are not commenced. There is no Irish equivalent of GAMSTOP or BetStop.
