This page used to be a list of Trustly casinos for Norwegian players. It is not one anymore, because the honest answer changed: Trustly no longer works as a deposit route to offshore casinos from Norway, and the MGA brands that built their Norwegian offer around it — Betsson, Casumo, Wildz, Dunder — have withdrawn from the market or closed. This is now an informational page: what happened, why, and what Norwegian players actually use instead.
This is a desk-researched page: it draws on operator statements, licensing registers, Lotteritilsynet enforcement records and documented player reports. The only casino we have ever deposit-tested with our own money is MyStake (22 April 2026); nothing on this page is based on us testing a Trustly route from Norway.

What Happened to Trustly Casinos in Norway — the actual timeline
- 2010: Norway’s payment intermediation ban (betalingsformidlingsforbudet) makes it illegal for Norwegian banks and payment providers to process gambling transactions to unlicensed operators.
- 2020–2024: Enforcement tightens steadily — Lotteritilsynet orders banks to block gambling merchant codes and intermediary accounts, closing the workarounds Trustly-style bank transfers relied on.
- 2024–2025: Norway adds DNS blocking of unlicensed gambling sites (live January 2025), and instant bank-payment rails effectively stop working for offshore casinos. We stop finding Trustly working from Norway at the casinos we track from this point on.
- 2026: Lotteritilsynet is surveying 170 banks on blocking effectiveness — the direction is stricter, not looser.
The honest status today: we have not confirmed a working Trustly deposit from Norway at any casino we track, and we have never deposit-tested a Trustly route from Norway ourselves. Some operators still list Trustly, or “Trustly Pay-N-Play”, in the cashier — that is the operator’s claim, not our verification, and on this rail it very often fails in practice. Check the live cashier before you count on it, and have crypto or cards as a fallback.
The Brands That Left Norway
The casinos this page used to compare were the classic Nordic-facing MGA brands. All of them are now out of the Norwegian market:
- Betsson — withdrew from the Norwegian market after a 2021 Lotteritilsynet order to BML Group; the site is on the current Lottstift blocking list (cumulative 238 domains as of the February 2026 decision). Betsson still operates in other markets under its MGA licence (MGA/B2C/108/2004) — see our Betsson review for the full story.
- Casumo — withdrew from the Norwegian market following Lotteritilsynet enforcement (noted in our July 2026 market review).
- Wildz — withdrew from the Norwegian market following Lotteritilsynet enforcement (noted in our July 2026 market review).
- Dunder — closed entirely in July 2026.
If you had an account at one of these brands, contact the operator’s support directly about any remaining balance — licensed MGA operators are required to return player funds. Disputes can be escalated to the Malta Gaming Authority.
What Trustly Actually Is
Trustly is a bank-transfer payment rail, not a wallet. At a casino cashier that supports it, you pick Trustly, choose your bank, and authenticate with BankID — the same national digital identity you use for online banking and tax filing. Money moves directly between your bank account and the merchant, and withdrawals return to the same account. In markets where it works, it is usually faster than cards and avoids card-specific gambling blocks.
Trustly Pay N Play — casino uten konto
Pay N Play is Trustly’s branded product where Trustly handles both identity verification AND payment in a single BankID step, so no casino account is created at all. This is what Norwegian players call “casino uten konto”. The model depends on the same payment rail — so it stopped working for Norwegian players at offshore casinos at the same time standard Trustly deposits did. Our casino uten konto Norway guide covers the current status of that model.
Why the rail failed in Norway specifically
Trustly itself did nothing wrong — it is a regulated payment institution. The issue is Norwegian law: the payment intermediation ban makes it illegal for banks and payment providers to process gambling transactions to operators without a Norwegian licence, and no offshore casino has one. Once Lotteritilsynet moved from writing letters to ordering banks to close the intermediary routes, bank-transfer rails like Trustly were the first thing to stop working.
What Norwegian Players Actually Use Now
Based on documented player reports and the cashiers we track (desk research, not deposit tests):
- Debit cards — still work at some banks; others block gambling merchant codes. Success varies bank by bank.
- E-wallets such as MiFinity — an intermediary step between your bank and the casino, commonly used where cards are blocked.
- Crypto — works independently of the banking rails; the trade-off is exchange steps and price movement, and it is typically offered by Curaçao-licensed rather than MGA-licensed operators.
Which casinos actually work on those rails. Three we currently track for Norwegian players, one for each route above — all licence-checked, and all checked against Lotteritilsynet’s blocking list before we list them:
- IceCasino — the closest thing to a Trustly replacement still open to Norwegians: Pay-N-Play-style instant banking (operator-listed, not editor-verified and not deposit-tested) plus crypto, NOK accepted, and the highest independent safety score of any brand on this page. Visit IceCasino → · review
- MyStake — the crypto route, and the only casino on this site we have deposited at and withdrawn from ourselves (€200 out in 51 minutes, no KYC friction). Crypto withdrawals run 30–60 minutes. Visit MyStake → · review
- SweetReels — NOK-native, so no currency conversion on the way in or out, with 20% daily cashback rather than a one-off match. Launched 2026, so no long track record yet. Visit SweetReels → · review
18+. Single wins over 10,000 kr are taxable income in Norway under skatteloven § 5-50 — that applies to every offshore casino regardless of licence, so it is not a reason to pick one over another. Full list of current offers: best casino bonuses Norway.

Legal Context — Online Gambling in Norway
Norway operates a state gambling monopoly. Norsk Tipping (lottery, sports betting, and casino games) and Norsk Rikstoto (horse racing) are the only operators licensed to offer gambling to Norwegian residents. The Norwegian Gambling Act (Pengespilloven) does not licence private or offshore operators.
Offshore casinos that accept Norwegian players are licensed in other jurisdictions (Malta, Curaçao) and operate outside the Norwegian regulatory framework. Player protections are governed by the operator’s licensing jurisdiction, not Norwegian law. Norway’s framework mainly restricts licensed supply, marketing and payment processing. This page is informational only and is not legal advice.

Payment rails for Norwegian players, side by side
The practical question is not whether Trustly exists — it does — but whether a given rail completes a deposit and a withdrawal from Norway today. This table states what we can stand behind, and says plainly where we cannot.
| Rail | Deposit from Norway | Withdrawal | What we can verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crypto (BTC, USDT) | Works | Works | The only rail we are willing to call reliable for Norwegian players. Not blocked at the bank because no Norwegian bank is involved. |
| Trustly / Pay N Play | Listed by some operators | Listed by some operators | Operator-listed only. We have not confirmed a completed Trustly deposit from Norway, and we do not print one as tested. |
| Visa / Mastercard | Often declined | Slow where it works | Norwegian issuers commonly decline gambling merchant codes. Behaviour differs by bank and is not something we can promise. |
| Vipps | Not available offshore | Not available offshore | Vipps is a domestic rail. See our Vipps guide for what it does and does not reach. |
| Revolut | Varies | Varies | Depends on the account’s gambling block setting. See Revolut casinos. |
Sist sjekket 19. august 2026. Where a row says “operator-listed”, it means the casino advertises the method and we have not independently completed a transaction. We would rather leave that gap visible than fill it with a claim.
Why the bank rails closed: the enforcement timeline
Trustly did not quietly stop working in Norway. It closed alongside a documented enforcement programme, and the dates matter because they explain why guides written in 2024 still describe a rail that no longer completes.
Lotteritilsynet’s DNS blocking of unlicensed gambling sites ran in batches. The first formal decision on 24 March 2025 covered 57 sites. A second on 12 June 2025 added 47. The February 2026 decision added a further 134, of 178 operators warned — 43 withdrew from the Norwegian market rather than be blocked. That is 238 blocked domains across 72 companies, and it is the cumulative list as published by the regulator.
We track that list ourselves, and the part that matters for payments is what the operators did next: 47 of those 238 domains belong to just 13 operator families running numbered or near-identical clones. Blocking one domain does not remove an operator; it moves them. The full dataset, with CSV and JSON, is on our Norway blocklist tracker.
Payment intermediation rules tightened over the same period. That is the honest mechanism behind the dead Trustly buttons: not that the method broke, but that the route between a Norwegian bank and an unlicensed operator was closed from both ends at once.
Before you deposit: what to actually check
If a casino advertises Trustly to Norwegian players, these are the checks that take two minutes and save a failed transfer.
- Open the cashier before registering. Most operators show the deposit methods available to your country once the account country is set. A method shown on the marketing page is not a method shown in the cashier.
- Check the currency. If NOK is not offered, every deposit and withdrawal carries a conversion cost, typically 2–4% each way. That is a real cost on a bonus that looked competitive.
- Check the withdrawal method list separately. Deposit and withdrawal methods are not always the same set, and the constraint that matters is getting money out.
- Check whether the domain resolves. If the operator is on the Lotteritilsynet list, the site may not load from a Norwegian connection at all — our tracker lists all 238.
- Read the bonus terms for method exclusions. Some welcome offers exclude certain deposit methods entirely, which is a detail that only appears in the terms.
Casino uten konto in 2026: what the term means now
“Casino uten konto” — casino without an account — described a specific product: you deposited via Trustly, the operator built the account from your bank’s verified identity data, and you never filled in a registration form. It worked because a licensed operator could rely on the bank for identity.
The phrase has outlived the product in the Norwegian offshore market. Sites still use it, and some mean nothing more than “registration is quick”. If the promise matters to you, the test is whether you are asked to create a username and password: if you are, it is a normal account with a fast form, whatever the page calls it. Our casino uten konto guide sets out what remains and what does not.
FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Hvilke casinoer aksepterer Trustly i Norge? (Which casinos accept Trustly in Norway?)
None that we track. The MGA brands that historically offered Trustly to Norwegian players have left the market: Betsson withdrew after a 2021 Lotteritilsynet order to BML Group (on the current Lottstift blocking list), Casumo and Wildz withdrew following Lotteritilsynet enforcement, and Dunder closed in July 2026. Offshore casinos that still list Trustly in their cashier do not have a working route for Norwegian banks.
Is Trustly a quick deposit method for casinos?
In markets where Trustly works, deposits are usually fast — often visible in the casino balance within minutes after BankID-style authentication. For Norwegian players at offshore casinos, the question is moot: the payment intermediation ban and bank-level blocking mean the transfer fails before speed becomes relevant.
Kan jeg ta ut casinogevinster via Trustly? (Can I withdraw casino winnings via Trustly?)
Not from offshore casinos serving Norway today — the same blocked rail applies in both directions. Players at current Norway-facing casinos typically withdraw via e-wallets or crypto; see our Norway bonus guide for which methods each casino we track actually supports. If you have funds stuck at a withdrawn MGA brand, contact the operator’s support — MGA rules require player funds to be returned.
Hva er forskjellen mellom Trustly og casino uten konto? (What is the difference between Trustly and casino uten konto?)
Trustly is a payment method used at casinos where you create a standard account. Casino uten konto (Pay N Play) is a registration model where Trustly handles both identity and payment in one BankID step, so no account is created. Both run on the same bank-transfer rail — which is why both stopped working for Norwegian players at the same time. Our casino uten konto Norway guide covers the current status.
Does using Trustly affect my welcome bonus?
This mattered when Trustly casinos served Norway — some payment methods (typically Skrill and Neteller) were excluded from welcome bonuses while Trustly qualified. Today no Norway-facing casino we track offers Trustly, so the question no longer applies from Norway. For the bonus terms of the casinos that do currently serve Norwegian players, see best casino bonuses Norway.
Do I need BankID to use Trustly?
Yes — in Norway, Trustly authenticates through BankID, the national digital identity system you already use for online banking and tax filing. That has not changed. What changed is the other end of the transaction: Norwegian banks and payment providers may not process gambling payments to unlicensed operators, so there is no offshore casino cashier for that BankID authentication to connect to.
