Quick April 2026 update on what we’ve been seeing in the casino affiliate space across Canada, Australia, Ireland, and Norway. This is part of our monthly recap, what changed, what didn’t, and what it means for players in our target markets.

Ontario iGaming Market Update

The iGaming Ontario regulated market is growing, with AGCO adding new operators nearly every week. The effect on offshore casino traffic is mixed, some players are migrating to regulated Ontario operators for the consumer protection, while others still prefer the bigger bonuses offshore casinos offer. For players outside Ontario (Quebec, Alberta, BC, etc.), offshore remains the default choice until provincial regulated markets catch up.

We track the Ontario brands at our Ontario bonus comparison and they’re consistently more conservative on bonus size than Curaçao operators, which makes sense, since regulated operators have higher compliance costs.

Australian Player Behaviour, PayID Now Dominant

For Australian players, PayID has fully overtaken traditional card deposits at most offshore casinos. The reasons are obvious once you try both: PayID is instant, bank-verified, and doesn’t get flagged by Australian banks the way credit cards increasingly do. We’ve updated our PayID casinos list this month with a new operator that just added PayID support.

The BetStop situation also remains unchanged, offshore casinos not on BetStop are still the only option for Australian players who haven’t self-excluded. We cover the legitimate ones in our BetStop casinos guide.

Ireland, GRAI Licensing Framework Update

Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRAI) continues processing B2C licence applications. No major domestic brands have gone live under the new framework yet, which means Irish players are still relying on MGA-licensed operators (Betsson, LeoVegas, PlayOJO) and payment methods like Revolut. Revolut’s gambling block remains inconsistent, some operators trigger it, others don’t. We maintain a Revolut-friendly casinos list based on current testing.

Norway, Banking Situation Stable

The Norwegian banking environment for offshore casinos hasn’t changed noticeably in April. DNB continues to block most card-based gambling transactions, which means Trustly and crypto remain the only reliable deposit routes. Our Trustly casinos list and Casino uten konto guide cover the options that work.

Norsk Tipping’s monopoly position remains legally intact but practically limited, Norwegian players have continued to use offshore operators at similar rates throughout Q1 2026. Lotteritilsynet hasn’t issued any new major enforcement actions against offshore brands.

  • Fastest payouts: Crypto-first operators (Stake, MyStake), sub-60 minute BTC/USDT
  • Fastest fiat: Interac e-Transfer withdrawals at King Billy, consistently under 2 hours during business hours
  • Slowest: Bank transfers at MGA-licensed operators, still taking 3-7 business days

Wagering requirements — standard 30x vs predatory 60x+ April 2026

Bonus Trends, April 2026

Two trends worth noting:

  1. Wagering requirements stable at 30-40x. The industry-wide push toward 50x+ that we saw in late 2024 has reversed. Most operators we track are back at 30x (bonus only) or 35x (deposit + bonus).
  2. Max bet caps getting stricter. The standard is now €/C$5 while bonus is active, down from €/C$10 a year ago. Exceeding this voids the bonus entirely, so it’s worth reading the fine print before you chase a big spin during wagering.

Use our wagering calculator to see exactly how much you’d need to play through on any specific bonus before you deposit.

What’s Coming Next Month

  • Full Betsson Casino review update once their Rizk Ontario launch completes
  • Expanded Norwegian content with more Trustly-only operators
