Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling

NewCasino.ai exists to help players find trustworthy online casinos with fair bonuses and reliable payouts. But none of that matters if gambling stops being entertainment and starts causing harm.

After years of researching the iGaming industry, the NewCasino.ai team has seen the damage that problem gambling can do. This page is here to make sure you have the information, tools, and helpline numbers you need — no matter which of our four target markets you’re in.

Gambling should be fun. The moment it stops being fun, it’s time to step back.

Recognising the Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling doesn’t always look the way you’d expect. It’s not just about losing large amounts of money. Here are warning signs to watch for in yourself or someone you know:

  • Chasing losses — Continuing to gamble specifically to win back money you’ve already lost, often increasing bet sizes to try to recover faster
  • Gambling with money you can’t afford to lose — Using rent, bill payments, or savings earmarked for essentials
  • Lying about gambling — Hiding how much time or money you spend from family, friends, or partners
  • Borrowing to gamble — Taking out loans, using credit cards, or borrowing from friends and family to fund gambling
  • Neglecting responsibilities — Missing work, skipping social commitments, or letting personal hygiene slip because of time spent gambling
  • Increasing tolerance — Needing to bet larger amounts to get the same level of excitement
  • Irritability when not gambling — Feeling restless, agitated, or anxious when you try to cut back or stop
  • Failed attempts to stop — Repeatedly telling yourself you’ll quit or cut back but being unable to follow through
  • Using gambling as an escape — Turning to gambling when stressed, anxious, depressed, or bored rather than as entertainment

If you recognise three or more of these signs in yourself, please reach out to one of the helplines listed below. There is no shame in asking for help.

Self-Exclusion Tools

Every licensed online casino is required to offer responsible gambling tools. Here’s what you should expect to find and how to use them:

Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly, or monthly maximum deposit amounts. Once set, increases typically require a cooling-off period of 24–72 hours before taking effect. Decreases take effect immediately. Setting a deposit limit before playing at any new casino is strongly recommended.

Loss Limits

Cap the total amount you can lose within a set timeframe. Not all casinos offer this, but the better-regulated ones (particularly MGA-licensed operators) do. If a casino doesn’t offer loss limits, that’s a yellow flag.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session length. The casino will notify you or log you out when your time is up. This is particularly useful if you find yourself losing track of time while playing.

Reality Checks

Periodic pop-up reminders showing how long you’ve been playing and your net wins/losses for the session. Most MGA and UKGC-licensed casinos have these enabled by default.

Self-Exclusion

The most serious tool available. Self-exclusion locks you out of your casino account for a set period — typically 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years, depending on the operator. During self-exclusion:

  • You cannot access your account or place bets
  • You will be removed from all marketing communications
  • Any pending bonuses are forfeited
  • Withdrawal of remaining balance is typically processed before the exclusion begins

In addition to individual casino self-exclusion, national self-exclusion registers exist:

  • Australia: BetStop (betstop.gov.au) — covers all licensed Australian online operators
  • Canada: Provincial exclusion programs vary by province (e.g., Ontario’s iGO self-exclusion covers all Ontario-licensed operators)
  • Norway: Spillesperre through Lotteri- og stiftelsestilsynet — allows you to exclude from all Norsk Tipping and regulated operator products

Cooling-Off Periods

A shorter alternative to full self-exclusion. Take a break of 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. Your account remains active but you cannot log in during the cooling-off period.

How NewCasino.ai Supports Responsible Gambling

We take the following steps across our site:

  • Every review notes the casino’s licence and regulatory status. Licensed casinos are required to offer responsible gambling tools. We verify this.
  • We never promote casinos with no licence. Unlicensed operators have no obligation to provide player protection tools, dispute resolution, or responsible gambling features.
  • We include wagering requirements in every bonus listing. Opaque bonus terms are a gateway to losses that players don’t expect. We spell out the maths so you know what you’re signing up for.
  • We don’t target minors. Our content is written for adults of legal gambling age in their jurisdiction. We do not use imagery, language, or marketing tactics designed to appeal to under-18s.
  • Affiliate links carry disclosure notices. Transparency about our commercial relationships is part of responsible operation. See our Affiliate Disclosure page for full details.

Take a Self-Assessment

If you’re unsure whether your gambling habits are healthy, the following questions (based on the Canadian Problem Gambling Index) can help:

  1. Have you bet more than you could afford to lose?
  2. Have you needed to gamble with larger amounts to get the same excitement?
  3. Have you gone back to try to win back money you lost?
  4. Have you borrowed money or sold anything to fund gambling?
  5. Have you felt that you might have a problem with gambling?
  6. Has gambling caused you any health problems, including stress or anxiety?
  7. Have people criticised your betting or told you that you have a gambling problem?
  8. Has your gambling caused any financial problems for you or your household?
  9. Have you felt guilty about the way you gamble or what happens when you gamble?

If you answered yes to three or more of these questions, please contact one of the helplines listed above. Support is free, confidential, and available right now.

A Note from the Editor

The house always has an edge, and gambling is entertainment, not income. Set your limits before you play. Use the tools casinos give you. And if it stops being fun, stop playing and call one of the numbers on this page.

There’s no judgment here — only support.
